A couple weeks ago I visited Monticello to do background research on my book, "Feng Shui & Monticello".   The more I discover, the more enchanted I become with this beautiful house.  Maybe it's beautiful in part because the kitchens and laundry and privys are hidden? In Jefferson's day everything appears as if by magic.  Clean laundry, food, all the day to day cleaning is done without effort.  Well, we know better, don't we?  Jefferson was attended to by slaves who saw to his every need.  His home was indeed a castle.

 Now I wonder what it would cost to build such a place?  Then I wonder what it would take to maintain it.
