I wrote a comment and it was viewed as possible spam

wow I commented on some comments on my blog and it looked like spam to active rain.

I wrote a very impassioned comment on Global Warming - from a series of comments on my own blog.

I hope it returns and gets viewed. I don't know all the ins and outs of commenting or commenting on the blogs.

I learn as I go. I think its funny that I may have spammed myself out of ignorance. My 27 year old son says I spam all the time when I send an email to more than one person. If it were not for him I would make other public mistakes. He taught me that "Oriental" is not correct anymore and the word is "Asian" How would I know if it were not for my children. I take yoga and learned to count in Korean and was pretty proud of saying thank you and counting to 10 the way they do it.

So it all comes down to intent. I intend to do the right thing. I intend to learn more all the time. I'm a grandmother of 5 little girls. I will have a lot more to learn too. They will see to it.

Our rich and diverse group of writers on Active Rain are here to say the way they see things. Its a place to comment on those views from their view. Every view is right...from their perspective and sometimes seen as wrong from another differing perspective. That is just a fact. The earth looks flat from my front yard. And guess what? I guess it is not flat after all. I am convinced it is round. Somebody got me to think differently about what appeared so real. Some wonderful teacher in Kentucky.

Hi Lynne,

When you wrote the comment did you include links to your own blog/articles?  If so, that is probably why it was viewed as spam.

In the AR guidelines it states what is acceptable and what isn't as far as comments go.

Don't fret too much about it.  We all make the mistakes now and then - reading the guidelines helps us avoid them.

I am not sure what I did but it could have been just like this...commenting on a comment.

on the other hand it could have been from me forwarding back.

the good news is that I am learning from working in the system and not being afraid to try.

thanks for the good ideas.

Lynne, don't let it get you down.  Your heart was in the right place in drafting that comment.

Most of my emails from the rain, do end up in my spam file.  I always check there first and transfer them to my regular email.  I think it is the activerain signature;)
