I am ranked number 35 on AR in NYS. This is cool because I have a goal to set myself up as one of the top bloggers in the state. I love the exposure that I get by being a part of this community. I am also blogging on a few other sites.

I used to not be able to find myself anywhere in google.com. Now if I type my name I am all over the first page. In addition to that if I type in simple search terms along with the area many of the listings that pop up are mine. Its very cool to see hard work paying off. I am getting more referrals now than I ever have in my life.

Blogging to blog? It makes me feel like a hamster on a wheel. There needs to be good content on blogs to add any value, not just blogging to blog. What if people click through one of these google links to find vapid, brainless entries. Key on an eye on what you writing about, not just the 200 points you've got your eye on.

If you Google "Cotati Directory", the very first website, ranking #1, it is a small hand made directory that I use to help friends and clients to promote their businesses, products or services for free. I learned a lot with the free online live daily search engine/marketing classes at http://yourleads.veretekk.com, nothing like free.

Chris, I didn't mean to insinuate that you were just "blogging to blog." Your blog is full of listing and content, which is so much more important than points or fluff.

Christopher -Thank you. I labeled this blog the way that I did because catchy titles usually get a lot of comments. I know the blog was short but it is doesn't need to be long. I was up late and had already blogged a few blogs, I was in blog mode and wanted to write a short quick blog about how blogging has helped me since I began.

Gaylen - We can all use as much exposure as we can get and this site is a great free resource to use for the desired affect.

Courtney - Networking is where its at. I use to be a refinance loan officer and networking was not nearly as important. Since advancing in my career I have learned that a good referral source is worth his/her weight in gold.

Hi Christopher,

From #35 you will get to #1, just keep blogging. As you mentioned business networking is so important for referrals and search engine optimization that is part of my daily marketing and even got involved with a business network that improved my rankings to #1 in Google with a couple of domains:

the Cotati Directory and the California Notary Signing Agents Network.

I already receive some calls regarding the search engine optimization service.

Keep up with your good blogging and I ll see you at the top! :)
