What???? Live Tuba Music At 10:00 AM?

By
Real Estate Agent with RLAH@properties AB95346

So, I was sitting at my desk getting ready to comment on a few posts, and I hear a sort the "um-pah, um-pah" - it sounded like someone was playing the tuba.

Now, that's sort of weird!

So, I grabbed my small camera and went outside to investigate.

I looked up and down the street and didn't see anything.  But there were certainly strains of "Down By The Riverside" wafting through the neighborhood.

And, Oh!  My!  God!

Then I saw them, coming around the corner!  A neighborhood school's Halloween parade, complete with a New Orleans Style combo leading the way!

One of the great things about being a real estate agent is that once in a while, I get to actually be home and see something really fun that's happening while many of my neighbors are toiling at their desks down town.

The children were adorable.  The parents looked like they were having a great time.

And it's one of those totally gorgeous, clear, crispy spring days that make you feel happy just to be here!

And this parade is one of the continuous chain of surprises that seem to happen constantly in Crestwood and make it totally fun to live here!

OK, Pat, you're supposed to be getting ready to take off for your Brian Buffini seminar, and here you are blogging!  Back to today's "ToDo' list!

Yikes!

At least it was a parade and not a new neighbor with a new toy!

I would have loved to hear that tenor saxophone getting of!    The freedom of the real estate professions has benefits.

Gary, and if it were a new neighbor, I couldn't really complain!  I'm at the other end of the spectrum with a piccolo - much more annoying to hear someone practice one of those!

WOW, WOW, WOW! I had a little flash of goosebumps. What a great idea for kids, parents, and community spirit. The whole idea of Down by the Riverside could easily be haunting, but in broad daylight for kids I'm sure it was catchy.

Crestwood sounds like a wonderful place to be, thank you for the introduction.

How nice! Isn't it GREAT to see school kids doing this instead of graffiti-ing your fence!  And good for all the parents who went out with them!

My first guess would have been you were hearing the local high school marching band, but a neighborhood Halloween parade is so much better! That's the kind of thing you just can't make up! Great pictures!

Hi, Pat!  Yes, what are you doing blogging--you just can't stay away, huh?  LOL  I love that in small communities--a parade on main street is about the best.  Families bringing lawn chairs lining up the street to watch the parade--it doesn't matter what they're about.  Life is good.  Thanks for sharing!

Oh my gosh, this is the kind of thing that would have had me on all three phone lines at once, making sure everyone important could hear it and "participate" in it with me!  Of course they'd actually hear very little of the music because I'd be commenting on how adorable the kids were, how much fun the parents were having, how awesome it was the teachers were doing this, and of course they'd get the; oh.....I so wish you could actually see this!

Thanks for sharing this.  Don't suppose you know the school's name and if they are putting on any concerts?  (Yes, we are willing to travel from Laurel, MD for good music!)
