I tried the google maps out several years ago when it was in beta. The palm based version was horrible, so I never used it.
How times have changed. I installed the new version of Google Maps on my new Treo 700. It's a really cool product. I usually have my GPS in my Acura MDX or use my laptop based gps in my old BMW...but wife's laptop needed new power supply, and she needed my laptop to work with out of state clients on a coffee shop(using the broadband card I have). I ended up having some "emergency" showings on Friday afternoon. I didn't have a chance to pull up any maps at all. I knew where most of them where, but the last two on my list, I had no idea.
I'm in the car brainstorming on how not to look unprofessional and remembered I had the new Google Maps on my Treo. It came through just in time. I put in where I was at, put in address we were heading to, in seconds I had step by step driving directions on my treo.
There is GPS based systems for the Treo, but they want $10/month and I have heard it's not the best in the world. This google maps program does great when you need a quick route in a pinch.
