Speechless Sunday - Another Plant Naming Challenge

By
Real Estate Agent with Healdsburg Sotheby's International Realty

Every one in a while I like to post a mystery photo of a plant for people to try to identify. It's a recent photo, so the image represents an October form of the plant. I left a few leaves in the picture as hints, but it's really all about the berries. It was taken in Santa Rosa, California, so it isn't an exotic from the tropics. No prizes for the winner; just the glory of victory.

Dave,

Thanks, I love using them on our Thanksgiving table...I think you are better versed than I am on plants, I do love plants. A

Dave, When I first glanced at them, for a split second they looked like bunches of tiny tomatoes.  But, I know that tomatoes don't grow like that, and they were much too small.

Thanks for the plant lesson. I learned something else new today!

OK Dave now this peaked my curiosity, is this an edible plant or purely decorational??

Sandy - the size is deceptive. Here's a picture of them on the bush. That's probably about six feet tall and eight feet wide overall, so you can get a better sense for the scale, mass, and color. They are really beautiful right now.

Endre - Only the birds eat them.
