The Merrimack NH Premium Outlet Mall is progressing and looking towards a Spring 2012 opening. This premium outlet mall will include a Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th store, but Simon Property Group is mum about the other stores coming in at this point.
There is much discussion about this mall being similar to the Wrentham Premium Outlets which is located about 30 minutes south of Boston. That maill has stores such as Reebok, Talbots, Gap, American Eagle, Eddie Bauer and Timberland, while its higher-end stores include Burberry, Coach, Barneys New York, Salvatore Ferragamo, Elie Tahari and Tory Burch. There are also gift and specialty stores including Burton Snowboards, Waterford Wedgwood, Williams-Sonoma Outlet, Bose, Brookstone and Yankee Candle.
The Wrentham Premium Outlet mall brings in shoppers from the Boston area and the rest of New England and even European visitors.
Now, let's bring the New Hampshire zero sales tax advantage to the table and I think we have a winner.
This is great for Merrimack and the surrounding towns, it will bring many new jobs and as shoppers come in to shop at the mall they buy gas, have a nice lunch or dinner and its just a big boost to the local economy.
As much as this was a hard fight for the developers, many Merrimack NH home owners just didn't want to see this come to town, this comes to Merrimack at a time when additional job growth is so important to the area.
