New Zoo and Waterpark in Gulf Shores
If you have been to Gulf Shores recently, you have probably noticed the sign on Highway 59 announcing the location of our “New Zoo.” The very exciting project has been underway for a little while now, and people are surely getting anxious. The project promises to be something new and exciting, not only to our area but also for zoo’s in general.
Our New Zoo in Gulf Shores proposes to be the first self sustaining zoo in the United States. The new zoo in Gulf Shores has crowned itself the “amazing green zoo.”
The current home of the zoo sits on just over 7 acres. Gulf Shores new zoo location was donated by Gulf Shores business man Weir, and will now sit on over 40 acres.
What many people aren’t aware of is the plans for a new Waterpark in Gulf Shores as well. Just adjacent to where the new zoo will call home, there will be a new indoor waterpark. After completion, the new waterpark will be obvious to tourists and vacationer’s driving in to Gulf Shores on Hwy 59, as there will be a large building shaped like a tidal wave which will house the indoor facility.
The waterpark promises, a sunken seaship for divers to explore, sealife to touch and watch, waterslides, a wavepool, and more. Once completed (proposed completion Fall 2012), Gulf Shores will offer even more for families and visitors. With the uptick in this year’s 2011 vacation revenues, the addition of new attractions should only help fuel our tourism fire in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach!
There are two condos that sit adjacent to our new area attractions. If you are interested in investing in either these lodging potentials, you can search for available units at Colony Club (1BR starting at $55,900) or Emerald Greens (1BR listed for $109,000 with amenities, amenities, amenities!) by clicking either link. Both condos are very affordable and will be convenient for vacationers who come to visit the New Zoo and Waterpark in Gulf Shores.
