Who Is Minding The Store On Thanksgiving Day?
Well I worked real hard today and will open my " store' Early Friday am. I think we deserve to take a full day off to be with our families. Business CAN wait for a day!
I love the holidays. It’s a wonderful time to relax and enjoy the company of family members. While we are enjoying our family and friends on Thanksgiving Day, who is “minding the store?”
This question is always in the forefront of my thoughts. I know Lorraine and I will both have our cell phones on and within hearing distance of that ring tone. One never knows what new opportunities will happen and when they’ll happen.
Will you be available or out of action on Thursday? Is there an obligation to our clients to service their listing, even on a holiday?
I’m of the opinion that as long as we are the listing agent, it’s our responsibility to service that listing even on a holiday. There are transferees who are in the area for a limited period of time, and if they want to see a property, I would certainly hope that the seller would show it and the listing agent would do whatever is asked to put a deal together.
One never knows if and when the next good showing will happen. Are you willing to take that risk of a miss, and is your seller willing to forego a showing? You’re off the hook if the seller says “no showings,” but many want and need that deal. How badly do you want them to have it?
