Nautical Night of LightsResidents in the Gulf Shores and surrounding areas, and even those just visiting, you are going to want to mark your calendars! With the holidays sneaking right up on us, be sure to make time to celebrate and enjoy the season. The Alabama Gulf Coast Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 26th Annual Nautical Night of Lights parade of lighted boats. It is a wonderful way to spend time with the family and really get into the holiday spirit.

The Nautical Night of Lights will be held on Saturday, December 10th at 5:30pm. It will end at approximately 8pm. Admission is FREE to the public, so Orange Beach/Gulf Shores residents, bring even your extended family! The participating boats will assemble at LuLu’s in Homeport Marina. The route the boats travel will be east down the Intracoastal Waterway Canal, passing The Wharf (which is a public viewing area), around Bear Point, down along the south end of Ono Island, west to Perdido Pass, up north into Terry Cove Harbor, south to the bridge and then ending at Zeke’s Landing Marina. People who want to view this fabulous array of lighted boats may choose a spot from any public area along Canal Road.

If you want to be really ambitious and get into the spirit, throw a party on one of the boats and be a participant in the parade! It would be a night remembered by all. You can reserve a boat for your party. Choose how many guests you think you’ll be hosting—any amount from 1 to 30 guests. As part of the package, you’ll get the lights for decorating the boat, complimentary snacks on board and following the parade, and you will get to attend the awesome Christmas Party at Zeke’s Landing—Wolf Bay Lodge in Orange Beach. Fantastic food will be served, live music for entertainment and a cash bar. See the website to host a party or to enter a boat in the parade.

The Nautical Night of Lights is just one way that Orange Beach/Gulf Shores likes to celebrate the holidays. It’s a great place to make your home or your “get-away from home!” I have extensive knowledge of this area and enjoy living here. I’m ready to assist you with several real estate options. Hi Lance, I love these events. We have the Christmas Ship parade each year on the Columbia River for residents in Portland, Oregon and Vancouver/Camas, Washington areas. They actually sail each evening for four hours beginning in early December through Christmas Eve. It's lovely. I'm sure it's beautiful to watch in Gulf Shores - and warmer too!
