PREPARE

Snowman on Lake Ridge Tree

I know Thanksgiving just passed, but time and winter have a way of sneaking up on us. Those of us on the East Coast remember well our blizzard of 2010.

Karen, what a great photo.  We're hoping the rain here stops so we can attend the Christmas parade in Branson.

Karen-It will not be long before the East Coast has snow again. Good advice on being prepared. Expect the normal and be prepared for the unexpected, right?

Hi Karen, While this may not be first snow,it is still quite beautiful. And the snowman seemed to be in a perfect place to insure a good view. On the other hand, I must admit that I would rather see it all in photos as opposed to having to deal with it, :-). That said, I am hoping to go back East in mid-January with one thing in mind, to see how I can get some snow packed mountains and Skiing photos to add to the collection.

BTW, the count has not come in but the attendance for the 2 nights of Christmas in the Park well exceeded 300,000. Photography here is getting so big that I saw no less than a couple dozen others with full camera gear and tripods. With hundreds and hundreds using smart phones and smaller cameras.

Karen, in spite of the incredible beauty of this photo you are probably relieved to not have all that snow that you did in your recent past!  Your snowman looks right at home on that massive tree trunk!

Bruce  You can only see one of the two trunks on that oak tree - there is another of equal size on the other side.  We are not looking forward to another blizzard similar to 2010
