Please join me in the hopes that 2012 will not be the bear of a year that 2011 was for businesses!
Wow, our business grew, but with cleaning up after Hurricane Irene and tropical storm Lee late in the year, it capped an already exhausting 10 months of start up hell. If we knew we'd get little sleep, not remember what a vacation's like and could not afford haircuts, let alone getting my nails done as a 40-something chick? Yeah, we'd rethink this business ownership thing, I assure you!
On the plus side, the economy improved, we've hire some "keepers" for admin and production techs -- they are the people actually sucking the sewage out of your home or business, cleaning soot off every surface if you have a boiler "puffback" and getting mold removed so you retain your healthy home or workplace.
So, it's another year, we moved my parents in with us, have a nearly three year old company and haven't killed each other -- after working and living together for the last 36 months. Marriage is good, thank God! Also, we have great friends and colleagues helping us get our business SEO up, like Debbie Gartner at Westchester Floor Coverings International and Donna -- our fearless First Friday's women's group leader.
