I am your buyer’s decorator.
My post was inspired by Kathy Streib post ‘Home Staging Tips in Palm Beach County- STOP! Leave Me Something to Work With!’
As a Home Stager very often I meet with resistance from the home seller when we go through their house, their accessories, and art work. They often are afraid, afraid that their house is not good enough, and we will be judging their style. WRONG. Their house reflects their needs and their choices and we respect that. I will tell you even more, sometimes I find very similar items at my client’s homes that I have in my house, but I know that if I will be selling my house those items WILL go to the storage.
When we decorate the house that is for sale it is important to meet the BUYER’S needs and look at the sellers' items from that perspective. It is like going to the garage sale. Someone’s unwanted items can become your treasures. The same idea we have in mind when decorating your house for sale. I tell to my seller, “I am your buyer’s decorator. I make your home comfortable for the buyer”. This is the reason we ask you wait for the consultation, and then remove extra items from your home. It takes a trained eye of the professional to choose the right item out of all that you have that will help to show your home at its best.
Here is the example. This candelabra was found in the seller’s closet and was never used. Now it is perfectly designates the sitting/dining area above the foldable table.
This art work was ones ready to donate damaged large art piece sitting in the garage. We made a 3 piece set that is perfect for the bedroom. It makes a great statement and substitute a headboard.
Let us pick what we can decorate with for your buyers and you will be surprized how your own items can make your house look even more beautiful.
