Commission cuts with short sales. Unpleasant past?

By

I’ve just recently noticed that banks are getting more and more flexible with not cutting agents’ commission unlike they used to since that short sales nightmare started.  I feel that now days, st least in Palos Verdes real esate they’re more lenient towards respecting our industry standards. Even second lenders who were typically the first ones reaching to agent’s pocket have better manners.  Where all this came from suddenly?  I’m listing and negotiating on many short sales in Palos Verdes Peninsula and South Bay but never had seen such “etiquette” in the past.  Any similar or different observations in other areas?

Hello Larissa, I really don't do many short sales so I may not be a good respondent, but I did one last year where I did have to give up more commission than I wanted...at least I got my client out from under her situation.  I have a short sale listed now...guess I'll have to wait and see what happens.

By the way, I see you're relatively new to AR and I'd like to welcome you aboard...just a reminder that there are a lot of members willing to help with any of your questions about blogging, SEO, entering photos and using different fonts...all you have to do is ask.  Congrats on being a Rainmaker.
