Hey, what are you doing online so late on Sunday night!  Get some sleep!

Man, this hit me.  It REALLY did!

For many years, our Team has trained with Floyd Wickman, the Master Real Estate Trainer and Teacher, founder of the popular Sweathogs Training Program for new (and successful) agents, and Master Sales Academy - to be held in 2008, for the fourth straight time, in Chicago - Our Town.

We are on his email Newsletter Distribution List, of course.  Let us know if you would like a copy of the email - I will forward it to you - it doesn't appear posted online.

He talks about this joyous time of the year, for those of all faiths.  For those of us who sell for a full-time living, however, this time of year often brings stress, uncertainty, perhaps a bit of despair.  For some, especially this year.

Many of us did not hit our sales goals this year.  Many more are concerned about the uncertainties of the coming year in real estate sales.  If you are not yet clear about what 2008 may bring, you might be seeing, "the DARK at the end of the tunnel (Floyd's words) - not the light!"

Floyd proposes a six-point formula to eliminate much of your self-doubt.  He suggests immediate action, no later than December 15th.  Here are three "Aha's" from the list, for me -

1.  COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS!  Often, the day-to-day activity keeps us "up to our a**** in alligators," and we do not stop to realize those little blessings in life.  Your children's smile.  Your spouse's loving kiss.  A visit with a friend or two.  A puppy's sniff, and lick across the face.  The light on the busy street that turns green, when you're in a hurry.  Little things.  Many little things.  Jot them down, create a Gratitude Journal.  If you start every day and end every day with them, you'll begin to taste success, quickly!

2.  ESTABLISH WRITTEN GOALS FOR THE NEW YEAR!  Few people write out their goals.  But those that do, and review the list daily, realize most of them.

3.  COMMIT  TO A HIGHER SKILL LEVEL IN THE NEW YEAR!   Plan to sharpen your skills to a new, record level in 2008.  Get excited, very excited, and have those around you beam with excitement, about the person you will become next year, and the people THEY will become.

Hope these help you - they did me!

Drop in anytime!

Hi Dean:  Another great post from you, Dean.  Yes, we have many blessings, and of course, it is so easy to take them for granted.

And yes, we need written goals, but they need to be realistic, and they need to be achieveable.  Oftentimes folks are so intent on doing such a great job of writing down their goals that they end up making them almost impossible to achieve.

And... especially if you have more time on your hands than usual... committing to a higher skill level in the coming year is a super idea.  Then, break this newly hoped-for skill down into step-by-step sub-goals, so that when each sub-goal is achieved, we can feel a real sense of accomplishment when we reach them.

For me... I have struggled with using my PC to create flyers and blog posts that are just too complicated for me... with my PC.  So, today I finally broke down and bought a MAC.  With that MAC comes a weekly one-on-one full hour lesson with one of their creativity counselors at the Apple Store.  That is a Fifty Two Week series of one full hour one-on-one sessions at the Apple Store.  I have never heard of such a great computer-skills program.  So, I am excited, and my number three goal is well on its way to success.

Thanks for sharing your inspiring thoughts here, Dean.  Best of Luck to you and Dean's Team in 2008 !
