I'd be issued a Lomo camera, but I don't really need one to create the Lomo effect. The first photo bleow was nothing more than a "garden variety" snapshot of the Covenant Presbyterian Church on Hoadly Rd. While editing it to maximize its' "normalness" I noticed a Lomo Effect link on my Adobe photo software. With two simple clicks I was able to create the Lomo Effect and add vignetting to the second photo.
Until I checked on Google I was unaware there was such a camera. I now know it was a Soviet spy camera that has spawned an association of Lomo enthusiasts around the world. It's noted more for the high quality of the lens since it had very little adjustment capability. It took very sharp 35mm photos with little or no effort.
It really does change the look of the original photo - my software enables me to change the intensity. I don't know what application it might have for me, but a few bucks spent on editing software may or may not have "down the road" benefits, but it does provide more editing flexibility
