What A Difference A Day Makes

What a difference a day makes... in real estate and in Santa Fe weather. On Sunday, April 1st, 2012, I wore sandals and spend the day behind the camera making images of our remarkable early spring in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Today, on Monday, April 2, 2012, a day later or as the song “What A Difference A Day Makes” made famous by Dinah Washington says twenty-four little hours, it is snowing! What a difference a day made and instead of it being “you” as the story goes in the song, it is Mother Nature. She clearly has her own schedule and if winter wants to follow spring, it is clearly her call. As for my singing the blues about the weather, not a chance. I love Santa Fe and all her seasons whenever they happen.

We are known as the City Different for a reason. As for tomorrow, I expect to see snow in the morning only to be followed by a blue sky again and sunshine and this eventful spring snow melting as fast as it appeared. As for my lilacs and all the flowers I photographed yesterday, we’ll will just have to see what they will do next.

Now if you want more information on how you can experience our four seasons and Santa Fe lifestyle by living here, the rest is easy. Contact Emily Medvec at 505-660-4541 or Ulla Allyn at 505-470-2381 for information on our local market and homes, condos and land available for your next move.

Emily, the weather is unpredictable and the cycle is changing around the world, I wonder it related to global warming.

Emily, We have seen similar drastic changes in our weather in my area as well. I find it all so fascinating and remarkable. The animals adjust and the rest of Nature continues to do what it does. Nature finds its way!

Good golly, Emily.  It's so hard for me to imagine it snowing somewhere now.  But, I do know what you mean... in Houston the temperature could drop 20 degrees in a day.

Kwee, when it starts snowing in Florida I will know Mother Nature's playbook has changed and not by her!

Kathleen, you are right the animals adjust, although I can imagine what all the lizards I saw yesterday are doing now. And then of course, there are the humans....

Kathy, the weather forecasters predicted today to be thunderstorms and rain. At 2 PM this afternoon, it started snowing in Santa Fe. Weather forecasting like real estate is all local!

Emily...much like life, you sure don't know what you're going to get from one day to another, but it sure is refreshing to have change....otherwise it'd be too boring.  I'd take boring SOMETIMES though.

Hi Emily, I love your attitude about taking the seasons in Santa Fe no matter how Mother Nature serves them.  Are the white lilacs in bloom in your area?  When I visited Santa Fe way back I lucked out and was there to see white lilacs everywhere.

Happy Spring to you and yours!

Gloria

Larry, life is about living and sometimes it comes with snow!

Teresa, thank you and welcome to ActiveRain.

Gloria, last night at 10 PM I was brushing the snow off my lilacs, they looked white but it was heavy wet snow. Fingers crossed for them today.
