Actual Sales Very Slow!!! Only One More of the eighteen pieces of vacant land that was in contract has actually closed in the last nine days in Areas 1(upper Westchester County, NY) and 9(Putnam County, NY) Two more have gone into contract and there were five nice land listings. One of the ones to go into contract was only on the market for eight days the other was on for 784 days. Seems like people are starting to make some land deals but having difficulty with getting the conditions needed to close done. Sometimes it is the buyers procrastinating but most if the time it is the towns and the Board of Health dragging their feet. I closed on another lot on Monday (12/17/07) for $650,000.00. All cash but took over 380 days from contract to close.
