Life’s easy. Appreciatin’ it is the hard part.
Hmmm… So what’s that supposed to mean? Well, we’ve all heard variations of “You don’t know what you’ve got ’til it’s gone”…or “You’re gonna miss me”. And how many remember when NBC was running The Cosby Show on one of their “must-see” nights?
Cosby’s show can be found on TV-land loops or DVD video, so those that did miss ‘em can go check ‘em out at their leisure. But in the real world, we make decisions we can’t take back. Folks are in our lives, then gone. Opportunities exist, then they don’t.
Life’s easy. Appreciatin’ it is the hard part
Some of the toughest challenges we face, then, are these: appreciate moments we have with folks while we can, and appreciate opportunities as they arise. I can guarantee you the clever fella that penned “Hindsight is 20/20″ would’ve chosen foresight if given the option.
How does this relate to real estate? It means not sitting around as that great buy opportunity passes you buy or that selling opportunity presents itself. It means taking that class that sounds great when it sounds great- and not regretting it later.
Life’s easy. Appreciatin’ it is the hard part.
And we need to appreciate each other, the blessings we bring into each other lives and the blessings they bring into ours. My church (Aloma Church in Winter Park, FL) continues to wait for God to send us a new pastor. Pastor Anthony George has moved on to First Baptist Church Atlanta, and will be introduced to their congregation tomorrow as Dr. Charles Stanley’s Assistant Pastor.
Pastor Anthony George is a great man of God, and a great messenger of the world’s greatest message: Jesus saves. May God bless him as he speaks tomorrow, and may God bless First Baptist Atlanta’s congregation in order that they may appreciate with foresight what we here must now appreciate in hindsight.
