McHappy Day Wednesday May 2nd, 2012
Why not stop in at a local McDonald's,
in Alliston @ 137 Young Street West, or
in Angus @ 231 Mill Street
$1 from every Big Mac, Happy Meal and McCafe purchased on Wednesday May 2nd will go to the Toronto Ronald McDonald House.
Staff from both these local McDonald's visited the new Ronald McDonald House in Toronto on April 17th and served dinners to families staying there.
The Toronto Ronald McDonald House provides accommodations for families of seriously ill children who are receiving treatment at a nearby hospital and, with 69 rooms, is the largest of its kind in the world.
Families from the greater Simcoe area have spent more than 1,000 room nights in the Toronto Ronald McDonald House.
McDonald's Canada covers 100% of all the administrative and operating costs of the Canada's Ronald McDonald Houses (12 currently with 2 more under construction).
With some RM Homes reporting turn-away rates as high as 70%, McDonald's Canada is embarking on an ambitious campaign to raise the total number of bedrooms and family suites in Canada to 465 from 219 by 2014.
So, order a Big Mac or a Happy Meal and a McCafe and 100% of the $2 donation will go towards Toronto's Ronald McDonald House.
Normally I can't help feeling a little twinge of guilt when I eat a burger and fries Chris, but now I can justify going in and ordering a Big Mac knowing that I'm eating it for a good cause.
Chris, ditto to Malcolm above....but we will be there on Wednesday! You just have to support the Ronald McDonald house!!
McHappy Day...sounds like a good choice for a good cause. Sometimes fast food is more than just the calories! Have a great week! I will admit I like a Big Mac every now and then!
I have yet to try a McCafe, Malcom. May 2nd is the day... though I am not sure if it is a provincial program, or just a local one... I couldn't find any corroborating evidence.
Al and Peggy, 70% turn aways are unacceptable... there is a need and McD's is stepping up. This is worthy of our support.
Gary, I rarely by a McD's burger, will have breakfast there on occassion though... May 2nd will be different.
Chris -- I guess this would be a guilty pleasure for some but with the knowledge they will helping a very worthy cause.
Chris, this is a wonderful post - and what a great way to donate to the Ronald McDonald House!
