This morning in Columbus, Ohio we had our annual Race for the Cure event. I have personally "slept in for the cure" many times, but this was my first time participating in the 5k run. My only regret when I finished was that I have squandered the opportunity to partake in past events. It was one of the more electric environments I have ever been a part of. Seeing all of the people either directly effected by the disease, or just there to help was absolutely incredible!
My girlfriend and I decided that we would run together, and I am proud to say we were able to stay together and run for the entire race. (Not as easy as it sounds in such a massive sea of people!) Although she did try to race me at the end to no avail :) After we finished talking about what an amazing time we had, our next topic was what a great city we live in!
The people, the environment, the event....all of it was just plain awesome! Hard not to love Columbus, Ohio! (unless your from Michigan)
