Stamford, CT was just named one of the best places to raise a family in the United States. On a list compiled by Kiplinger Magazine, Stamford was listed as the #10 best place to raise a family in the United States. I have to say, I was not surprised by this because Stamford has a lot to offer. Stamford has great schools, both public and private. Stamford is a city, but has a variety of locations to live. You can live on the water, in the city, or in a quiet, wooded area. There are parks and the serene, secluded area of North Stamford for nature lovers. North Stamford even has the Stamford Museum & Nature Center, which offers great educational nature classes for children and adults alike. Stamford has a downtown area environment with concerts, plays, great restaurants, and more for the city lover. Stamford is on the Long Island Sound, giving people the opportunity to hit the beach, and live with great water views. Stamford is only a short train ride to New York City which is great for commuters. To top it all off, Stamford has low crime rates. All of this adds up, and helps Stamford to stand out among all the cities in the United States. Having raised my family in Stamford, I have to agree with the article. Stamford was a great place to raise my family and is a great place to continue to live.
