14 Comments on Computer Genius Squatter in AOL Building for 2 Months until Caught
"Dollar and a Dream" I hope he makes his idea that it enables the younger generation to bigger and better things to come.
Kristin, this is an interesting story showing where their is a will there is a way. It is amazing AOL did not simply hire him back, give him an office and a staff and let him innovate! Of the course, we all know the answer. He clearly is too much out of the box for AOL's vision!
Hi Raymond,
It is amazing how smart this new generation is. When reading his full story, he was not a very good student until his teacher asked him what she could do to help him. He just bloomed after that and here he is today. I say hooray for his teacher. Someone should give her a raise. So he is currently working on software to help teachers to think out of the box and inspire more kids.
Hi Emily,
I thought the exact same thing when I was writing his story. Maybe someday he will own AOL and have the same couch in his executive office on the top floor.
It sounds like there is no hard feelings as they let him in for meetings and office lab work so maybe it has worked out the way it is supposed to.
Hi Nancy,
You are so right, he could have given up and gotten a job at a video store or a coffee shop but he chose to forge ahead and make his company shine.
I think the teachers will praise him for this and I expect we will hear more good things about him.
I am so glad AOL did not have him arrested for trespassing as they could have but chose to be the kinder giant.
Kristin-He is definitely a resourceful young man. I think he will do wonderfully in the years ahead.
Hi Sharon,
I agree, he will probably do extremely well in the future being so driven. It is wonderful that he has found himself and is determined to help others in the education slump.
Thanks for sharing this story. Many need to be creative when chasing their dreams.
Have an outstanding week with your camera in hand.
Eric Simons is a genius and very, very resourceful :)
Hi Roy,
Thanks so much for stopping by. Yes he does seem creative and is following his dreams. Have a wonderful weekend.
Hi Rebecca,
I certainly agree with you. I saw a video he did with CNN Money and he said I am 20 years old and I have nothing to lose. But they could have called the police and arrested him but I am glad they did not. Perhaps he will buy them in a few years.
Interesting post, Kristin - thanks for sharing!
Hi Barbara-Jo,
Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting. He was trespassing but certainly has the drive to keep on track to get his business off the ground.
