West Linn Summer Solstice Celebration & Farmer's Market June 20th, 2012 From 5PM-8PM
Shiver me timbers Mateys! It's that time of year when the West Linn's Farmer's Market is scheduled to open again in Historic Downtown Mainstreet. Kicking off this event will be the second go around for the pirate themed Summer Solstice Celebration which was a huge success last year! I for one am very happy summer is finally here!
This fun West Linn event will have lots of the same activites as last year with the Dragon Puppet Theatre, the Hay Castle where kids can get some swashbucking activity in of their own, sidewalk shopping, great selection of food and live music as well as of course the many vendors and artisans in the Farmers Market. The Pirates and their parrots will once again be strolling and mingling with the crowd...something that all age groups enjoyed!
Last year I was totally entertained by the Bridgetown Morris Men which I had never seen before. The high kicking energy was really fun to watch..which we'll get the pleasure of seeing once again this year.
Farmers Market manager Miles McCoy said that there was actually a waiting list of vendors wanting to get into the market this year. A great sign of growth (pun intented). Last year there were some changes made with moving it from Tuesdays to Wednesday evenings.
The event is completely run by local business and community volunteers of the Historic Willamette: A Main Street Community and funded by local sponsors.
Come on down and support your local West Linn community and enjoy a really great fun evening! Oh...of course you don't have to LIVE in West Linn to enjoy the fun...EVERYONE is welcome!!
If you're concerned about parking, just head into the Les Schwab parking lot just one block over from the event on 1990 8th Ave. Easy!
Location: Historic Willamette: A Main Street community is located along Willamette Falls Drive, at Exit 6 off I-205.
Date & Time: Wednesday, June 20th from 5PM-8PM
Farmers Market: Will run every Wednesday evening June 20th- September 19th from 5PM-8PM
