Unwanted Guests Are Sometimes Difficult To Get Rid Of | We've Been Skunked!

Our back yard is always full in interesting guests.  We love all the animals that wander through our yard.  My hubby has even made a home for several  rabbits that call our deck home.  During the winter, we've had the pleasure of seeing two baby fawns grow up and move on into the wild.  The rewards of living in the country, yet so close to town.Elmer Fudd

A few weeks ago, someone dumped off a pop bellied pig and a large great Pyrenees and the neighbor was gracious enough to take them to his farm.

Now, we have a Mama skunk and 3 babies........not one of our favorites.  This family decided to get agressive and make our deck their home.

The only solution is to send my hubby, the great hunter that he is, to see if he can catch them without getting sprayed..........or not.  I can say, I've never seen him run so fast.  He was able to secure our deck of the unwanted family without any harm to himself and three of the four have been relocated.

Can't wait to see what comes by next week.

Better than the report that came out of Longwood FL today when 2 large blackbears were fighting in the middle of  a residential neighborhood.

Town or Country, in Colorado, we do it all.

There's nothing cuter than a momma skunk and her babies!  However making their home in your back yard STINKS!

Getting skunked would not be a good thing, that smell takes forever to leave and you can't have enough tomato juice if it sprays

Kay...

I don't think that I have ever seen a skunk in the wild, but I have sure smelled them!

Kay, we have the same problems here. My husband and son went out last week to deal with some critters. The ones I like the least are the wild turkeys. They are absolutely prehistoric looking! and huge!

Kay, The joys of rural living!  We can certainly relate, with the exception of the skunks!  They're in the area, but seem to avoid our yard, and that's just fine with us :)

Hi Kay.  We had been dealing with five baby skunks.  They are cute but my 6 pound Maltese wants to play with them.

Kevin, the bears would have been a bigger problem here. They are protected. We had an agent spot one a few weeks ago, he game warden was called and when they arrived, they noted it was a bear and left. No much they can do.

Ed, fortunately it rained the next day and then the heat took over. In less than a day, the smell was gone.

Richard, they normally stay away. This Mama skunk seemed to be agressive and wasn't scared of us.

Liz and Bill, I love living in the country. These critters just make it more interesting. Last fall a family of Copperheads decided our brick home was warmer than the ground. I'm deathly scared of any kind of snake.
