The increase in single home permits along with commercial permits has contributed to Waukee having the strongest year in development since 2008.
-The city issued more building permits last year than it had in any year since 2008
-81.7 Million in new development, 12.8 Million of that from commercial buildings
-141 single family home permits, up from 103 permits in 2011
-29 single family home permits issued in June, the highest number since June of 2006
Waukee's interim city administrator, Brad Deets says, "the numbers are encouraging, especially considering future development along the Alice’s Road corridor. There’s still a lot of positive growth in the Waukee area and we believe that’s going to continue in the next few years as we bring on other infrastructure and certainly the Alice’s Road corridor."
