June Housing Stats from Realtor.com were just released and in Northern Virginia prices were up by 6.6% from this time last year and a 2% increase from May 2012. Inventory was also down by 17% as compared to June of 2011.

Total Listings- 13,173
Average Inventory Age- 57 days

Inventory was down by 19.4% nationally and decreased in 143 out of 146 markets.
Real estate is local and in the Northern Virginia area inventory is low. Sellers that properly prepare their home for sale and price it well are enjoying multiple offers and a plethora of showings in the first few days on the market. Buyers often need to act quickly and deliver a strong/clean offer in order to capture their desired home.
