West Goshen experienced a tragic fire this week on Gail Road which killed an elderly couple in the early morning of 8/10/12. Several of our area fire companies and medics responded to the blaze.
3 young men from Station 56 of the Goshen Fire Company went the extra mile today by visiting neighbors on Gail Road and talking to them about smoke alarms. Offering to test the smoke alarms, the 3 men realized that some of the alarms either didn't have batteries or the batteries were dead. The firefighters then used their own money and replaced batteries for those that needed it.
The firefighters, Ryan Herman, Steve Hiro and Dusty Kilgore, all from Station 56 are just 3 of the many volunteers that put themselves in harm's way to keep our neighborhoods safe from fire. The mission station of the Goshen Fire Company says it all:
