It's 3:00 a.m. .... do you know where your REALTOR is at? (Oh, and to clarify, I can end my sentence with a preposition as they say the rule of not ending a sentence with a preposition is a myth. Who is "they"? I don't know but I"m going with it, despite!)
I hear so much about REALTOR's not being accessible and this noted lack of communication with their customers is a number 1 customer complaint: " I never hear from my REALTOR" or "I can't get ahold of my REALTOR".
So, it's 3:00 a.m. and your customer calls you - do you pick up the phone? Well, I think you have to draw the line somewhere ... anyhow, if you try to call me at 3:00 a.m. I won't be of much value, as I'll likely be fast asleep and very groggy, if you wake me.
I value my customers and understand the importance of communication and being accessible when they need me. Like I said, you can't get me at 3:00 a.m. however, you can call me or email me and I'll get back to my customers promptly if I miss their call during "normal" business hours and if it's after those "normal" business hours and they need me, I'll get back to them. I've had customers reach out to me via email late at night, and I have no problem with responding to them. Sometimes, I think it throws them off to receive a reply from me at 11:00 at night. Do you have a cutoff off time in servicing your customers?
One of the best things that my customers report about working with me is that my level of communication is invaluable to them referencing that I routinely get back to them in lightening speed. Isn't that the only way to be? After all, if I don't service my customers in such a way, they aren't going to be sending me their family and friends. Plus, aren't we a service business?
Lynn, you are so right, communication is everything in Real Estate. Humorous Note: A short time back I couldn't sleep around 3 am so I got up, grabbed my Tablet and sent a note to my Broker thinking she would see it around 9 am. Much to my surprise, 5 minutes later I had a response! I agree with you though, most of us can't work at 3 am. Thanks for sharing today.
Hi Lynn- I do, I usually try to adhere to 8-5 day unless I'm in a deal and than it's a whole different story.
Lynn I like your style. Provide the best possible service for your clients but have a sence of humor while doing it! Obviously we cant be available at all hours of the day but when we take care of our clients as soon as we can, they notice and send their friends.
uh not at 3am, but they are more than welcome to email me for a bright and cheery response when the sun wakes me up!
David, we never know who might be up at the odd hours we do sometimes keep!
Adrian, as long as we're accessible during "normal" hours as you are, then we're doing what we're supposed to do and then we're in the midst of a transaction, our normal certainly can change, that's for sure
Tiffany, thank you! Yes, taking care of our customers is what it's all about
Mark, I agree, 3:00 a.m. just wouldn't work!
What client in their right mind calls their agent at 3:00 a.m.? If they do, time to have "that" talk, setting hours. I try not to email people outside of business hours, they get too spoiled that way. HA HA HA Actually, I do on occassion, but from 9 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. is my standard availablity.
Hi Carla, Yes, that would just be too much. Thank goodness I haven't experienced that one. Your hours are a good norm!
