Amazing Architecture

This week's pick of unique homes for our Facebook business page is from Melbourne, Australia.  This "funky" house is the creation of the architect firm McBride Charles Ryan.

Dornob.com described this house as a "strange spaceship home crash lands, breaks open?"  That's one great way to describe it, but according to the architect firm's website, the design was actually based on the "conception of a giant puzzle whose components ranged from the large to the infinitesimally small."  By removing parts of the dome shape and leaving other fragments, you really get the feeling of a giant puzzle.  The "fragments" contain a garden shed, a seat, letterbox and cellar.

Wow, very cool home. They must have a lot of people wanting to pop by and have a look at it. I guess that is expected to happen when you have such a unique home.

That is a beautiful house.  Did you take those photos yourselves?  I'm sure they're not copyrighted by a photographer or anything like that . . . nah.  {rolling eyes} They're on the Internet, everything on the Internet is up for grabs.  Screw copyright infringements and using it for business promotions on your real estate blog.   Great job!!

Hi Andrew!  I know it's on our ever growing list of homes we would love to see!

Hi Carla, that's such a tricky one isn't it?  We try to make sure any time we use any pictures they are always credited back to their original source.

Hi Jeanne, Ralph & Debbie!  I love puzzles and find this home fascinating, expecially how they used the blocks in the interior design.  I would love to live in this one too!
