26th Annual Plymouth International Ice Sculpture SpectacularGrab the kids and come to Downtown Plymouth next weekend to check out the wonderful ice sculptures created for this event that keeps growing every year.

Opening in Kellogg Park on Friday, January 25th and running through Sunday, January 27th, the Spectacular features ice carvers from around the United States and from as far away as Japan.

Over 100 sculptures are expected to be carved, mostly from single blocks of ice. Several sculptures will be constructed using between 5-100 blocks of ice, and you can watch the carving process from the beginning of stacking the blocks of ice to the finished works of art.

Each day's events include sculpture competitions and an evening light show at dusk. Special additions this year include snowshoe interactive demonstrations, live reindeer, and wood carving demonstrations.

Check out the schedule of events, print out a downtown walking map, and plan to be impressed. It's an experience the family won't soon forget!

Debra,  It looks like a lot of fun and an excellent opportunity to take some amazing photos...I'm always enthralled at  how they are able to carve such beautiful sculptures from blocks of ice.

Debra, ice sculptures are just beautiful.  I've been to festivals like this before and always marvel and the serene beauty of the ice sculptures.  My wife and I had an ice sculpture created for our wedding 6 years ago.  She's a professional ballroom dancer and we had a four foot tall ice sculpture of us dancing modeled on a photo of us.  It made for an amazing centerpiece in the hallway of the reception hall.
