Hello Everybody,
My name is Tatyana Makarov, and I am founder and teacher at “Little Beethovens, LLC” South Windsor piano studio (860) 648-9270; LittleBeethovens@Gmail.com; www.LittleBeethovens.com
I have parents asking me various questions about methods I am using with my students; about piano competitions I am submitting my pupils to, about my policies, what is the right age to start taking lessons; etc… I thought that it will be beneficial to all of us to have an opportunity to get them answered, so I decided to have an
Open House Day: Saturday, September 22, from 12:00-1:30 p.m. 1 Austin Circle, South Windsor, CT 06074. “Little Beethovens, LLC” South Windsor piano studio.
A little bit about me. I am a classical pianist; I have a Master Degree in Classical performance and Piano Pedagogy. I am a board member of CTMTA and chair of the Spring Festival. I do prepare my students for Select Student and Audrey Thayer state piano competitions and have my students winning those events.
I would be happy to discuss with you in person about what is necessary from me, as a teacher, and from you and your child, to prepare for such events. Every child is different and having Master degree in Piano Pedagogy allows me to find individual approach with every student and make sure that they all learn to their full potential.
Being classical pianist, I love classical music and I am trying to introduce my students to classical composers such as Beethoven, Chopin, Bach, Mozart, Clementi, etc at early stage. Of course, I am not only limited to classical pieces, some of my students show interest in Jazz, Blues…
I am using various methods with my pupils on different levels. I also prepare my students (who want to participate) for “The Achievement Program” through Carnegie Hall Royal Conservatory.
Last year I signed up 18 of my pupils and they all received First Class Honors. That is a very beneficial program and I am hoping that this year I will have a lot more students participating in this exam. If you would like more information, please check The Achievement Program website for fees and deadlines.
I will show you and explain everything that the preparation process involves (from ear training, sight reading exercise to specific repertoire required by the syllabus). Upon passing the exam, every student receives certificate of accomplishment. Students who scores above 87 points on the exam are invited to perform at The Carnegie Hall.
Please stop by at my Open House this Saturday, September 22, from 12:00-1:30 p.m. “Little Beethovens, LLC”, South Windsor piano studio. I will be happy to meet you all!
As of today, I have 47 students (of all ages) enrolled in my studio and have only 2-3 openings. You are welcome to bring your friend, if they are interested in enrolling with me and learn more about methods I am using with my students.
