I bought a scooter about 5 weeks ago. I have been loving it. My confidence grows with every ride. It is the most fun I have had since I was a kid...
Last night, while visiting a friend, my scooter had its first maintenance issue. The headlight was out...
What would I do? Looks like we were having a sleepover...
This morning, after an exhilarating ride back home, I started reading all I could about Kymco headlights. Without any directions, I grabbed a screwdriver (a large phillips) and headed off to Autozone...
I started taking my scooter apart in the parking lot...
It really wasn't that hard. 7 screws and the front panel comes off. Twisting the circular thing gets you into the headlight...
Fortunately, a large affable man who LOVED scooters approached at this time. He owned a motorcycle, but seemed jealous of my machine. Experienced with engines, he assisted in the removal of the lightbulb itself. It only required a confident twist, but I wasn't that confident...
After driving to a couple different stores, I found Naperville Motorsports, and the owner helped me find the right bulb. $5.90 out the door...
I put the headlight back together, tightened up those same 7 screws...
And we had light...
Again, I found fixing the light to be a good experience. Not too hard. And it is alway nice learning new things...
I love my scooter.
