Calgary Board of Education supervises all public schools in Calgary, it offers a wide range of programs that exceed the Alberta Mandate Curriculum to include more educational options such as Academic Enrichment, Careers and Technology, Programming for students with Exceptional Needs, in addition to Alternative and Language programs.
Homeschooling is an available alternative that is supported by Calgary Board of Education too, Parents can choose between HomeEducation option where they are 100% responsible for their kids' learning, or Blended option that combines the parent and teacher efforts, (50% parents, 50% teacher).
CBe-Learn is the board's online classes for Junior and senior high part time and full time students.
Calgary Catholic Schools add Religious Education to its core subjects. The schools offer four language programs for students interested in learning a second language: French Immersion, Italian, Spanish, and Pilipino. In addition, Information and Communication Technology is considered as part of all core subjects and for all grade levels.
