Flufftastic Hints! Fold a Fitted Sheet So it's as Small as Your Pillow

Few people like doing laundry.

And No One likes folding fitted sheets! They always look like a disaster no matter how neatly you try to fold them.
fitted sheetHere's a relatively simple way to fold a fitted sheet so you can stack them, & the rest of the sheet set, on your shelf neatly & compactly! And you won't lose any of the sheet set pieces!

Find the two seamed corners on one side. (doesn't matter end or side, but not kitty corner) make sure both are inside out.

Touch the two seam/dart ends together. A & B
fitted sheet

Fold A over the B so B is inside A. Now you will see the outside of the A seam.

Find the other two corners and follow the same process. C & D

Now take one of the doubled up corners and take tip into fingers,

bring elastic over wrist and insert hand into the pocket of original doubled corners. Now all corners should be inserted into one of the corners.

Ask helpful cat to supervise. If you don't have a cat, I'm sure your dog would love to help...
fitted sheet

Pick up bundled corners so there is a pocket that said cat would love to curl up in.

Lay sheet out, it should look like this:

Fold elastic side over to top edge.

Fold right side over 1/3 and then left side over to right.

Stack flat sheet and one pillow case on top of your masterpiece.

Take remaining pillow case and insert stack.

Fold end under.

These two sheet sets are the same size or smaller, than a regular sized bed pillow.

Even stacked, they don't take up a lot of room!

I don't think anybody really enjoys laundry or folding those stubborn fitted sheets, but, hey, thanks for sharing!

Me Too BB! Those sheets were avoided for days, hence the wrinkles, but they really do stack neatly once you get the hang of it...

I'm sure Rocky would love to help, but would there be any room on the bed to lay out the sheet? =D

Peg - So screwing the fitted sheet into a scruffy ball and tossing it into the cupboard is wrong?...  Oh dear, I better go back and start at step one again...

Great method Peg!  I'm going to have to try that one.  I usually opt for Sally's method.  Love the profile pic!

I always make it through steps A, B, C and D just fine; then I resort to Sally's scrunching it into a ball and stuffing it into the linen closet.

Thanx Jan! I'm going to try to not use Sally's method again, so much easier to find everything this way...

Too Funny Shar! We need to practice what we preach...

Hi Peg -- hey I like your suggestion but my method is easier:  Take the sheets off the bed, toss them in the washer and dryer (on wrinkle-remover cycle) and then put them right back on the bed :-)  No wrinkles, and no problem trying to remember all those steps LOL!!

I remember seeing Martha Stewart on Oprah's show years ago, showing Oprah how to fold them in a similar fashion and I was thinking "right, like Oprah EVER has to fold a sheet again in her lifetime ..."

LOL Maureen! I've done that too! Since I know I won't be like Oprah for a while, I'll be using this method until then... =D
