North Richland Hills Tx parks: Adventure World playground renovation
good evening all. I just wanted to make North Richland Hills residents aware that a renovation is going to happen next year in July at the Crosstimbers Park/ Adventure World playground in North Richland Hills off of Starnes and Holiday.
I and a friend that goes there frequently attended the community input meeting a few weeks ago. About 40 people were there including several council members, park planners, architecture firm as well as representatives from Shane's Inspiration. That last firm designs playgrounds to be accessible for able bodied kids as well as kids needing help getting around physically where a regular playground is too challenging or inaccessible. There were some great ideas tossed around at the North Ridge middle school meeting and I was pleased to be there.
This playground is really fun with a large play structure, swings, slides,adult fitness stations, tubes and mor
e to spur on play and imaginative playing for kids. We go hiking on the Crosstimbers trails there quite often. We observe bird and other wildlife as well as seeing the flora that abounds in this unique Texas ecosystem. This first meeting was basically brainstorming and community input to see what is really needed in a renovated North Richland Hills park. Ideas were more shade for sure, maybe a water feature, several sets of play structures, art installation, more trails, better surfacing, and much much more.
The city of North Richland Hills will be taking more community input as the renovation isn't scheduled until next July at this point. There is around $450,000 that is earmarked to upgrade and expand the Adventure World playground so that it is more challenging and more accessible to the kids.
