Dallas is poised for continued economic growth, according to Dan Kessler, Assistant Director of Transportation for the North Central Council of Governments (NCTCOG), who recently spoke at Forecast 2013, sponsored by Hexter-Fair / First American Title Company. Here are some of the many reasons Kessler believes Dallas has a bright future:

  •  Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) is the 12th largest economic center in the world!
  • Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) is the fastest growing metro in the United States.
  • Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) population is 6.6 million and projected to be9 million by 2035.
  • Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) has vacant land, water, and a diverse economy.
  • Texas has gone 2 decades without a gas tax increase.
  • Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) transportation system has helped the economy and job growth.
  • Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) is largest light rail system in the United States.
  • Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) is one year from a rail system connecting Dallas to DFW Airport.
  • North Central Council of Governments (NCTCOG) is working with Japanese engineers to design new high speed rail technology to move people between cities, with a target completion date of 2020.
  • Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART)stations will be catalysts for commercial and residential development.
