Dallas is poised for continued economic growth, according to Dan Kessler, Assistant Director of Transportation for the North Central Council of Governments (NCTCOG), who recently spoke at Forecast 2013, sponsored by Hexter-Fair / First American Title Company. - Texas has gone 2 decades without a gas tax increase.
- Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) transportation system has helped the economy and job growth.
- Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) is largest light rail system in the United States.
- Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) is one year from a rail system connecting Dallas to DFW Airport.
- North Central Council of Governments (NCTCOG) is working with Japanese engineers to design new high speed rail technology to move people between cities, with a target completion date of 2020.
