Thank You Applebees, Chili's, Hy-Vee, Famous Dave's From Veterans! Sunday or Monday, Applebees, Chili's, Hy-Vee, Famous Dave's, and others are offering a free meal to Veterans for Veterans' Day. Thank you!
Applebees offered about 8 differenct meals with one of them being Double Crunch Shrimp that has 18 fantail shrimp, french fries, cole slaw, and cocktail sauce. Chili's offered about the same number of meals with one of them being a nice sized cheeseburger and fries. Hy-Vee was offering free breakfast buffet and beverage to both Veterans AND their spouse!!! Famous Dave's offered their two meat BBQ meal which included a cornbread muffin and a side dish. Two other local restaurants offered a fried breaded onion appetizer.
Other companies, not in the Lawrence Kansas area, also offered a free meal such as Friendly's, T. G. I. Fridays, Denny's Golden Corral, Sizzler, The Olive Garden, and others.
Veterans simply bring in their military ID, wear their uniform if allowed, or produce their DD-214. A photo ID is also requested.
