So, you want to show my listing? Thank you, that's great, but please ACTUALLY SHOW MY LISTING. This has been my attitude this week.
I acquired a new listing on Sunday and the owner let me know that he didn't want a lockbox placed on his house. His reasoning was that he works just around the corner and he could be to his house in 5 minutes to let agents who have appointments in. I'm ok with that. If you don't want a lockbox on your house, that is your choice.
The problem I am having, is with a select few agents. Granted, most show up, introduce themselves, leave cards...everything we are supposed to do. However, 4 times this week I have had agents make appointments, confirm their appointments and then never show up. One lady didn't show up two days in a row. I've only had the listing now for 4 days total!!
I called this agent and the first time she said "Oh, my clients no showed me, so I didn't show the house". Ok, that is fine, but LET ME KNOW!! She rescheduled for the next day at noon. Called around 11 to reschedule to 2 and then no showed again. When I called her up to find out what was going on, she acted as if she had no idea what I was talking about.
Of the other two no shows, one said they ran out of time and the other has yet to return my call. Listen, I understand running out of time or clients no showing you. What I don't understand is not giving the listing agent a call and saying "Hey, sorry, but we won't make it". If it is a vacant house, sure, don't show it if you don't want to. However, this seller was taking off from work to meet you at the house. Inexcusable. As agents, we all need to respect each others time. That includes our clients as well.
