Estate sale company/person needed in Phoenix

Because of another referral from another ActiveRain member (another blog soon,) I have a need for an "estate sale" salesperson for Phoenix AZ. I'm taking the listing in a week or two, but the heirs want to use an "estate sale" person to dispose of the furniture and collectibles rather than do a garage or yard sale. The last person I had referred seemed to not be as interested any longer in getting the highest value as she was working with a lot of the bank REO's and just making a quick buck.

I have sent out a blog through out company wide blogging site and haven't received much positive response. If any of you Phoenix area agents know of anyone/any company, please let me know.

The contents are mostly older furniture but there are supposedly some trinkets and collectibles which may be worth some money.

All the best with that Juli! Gosh we had a hard time finding such a person/business this summer for a sale. We did find one and the business owner was overwhelmed with work. He didn't understand why more people were not in that line of work since there was so much business.

Thanks, mom. I'm sure we'll find someone to handle the sales. And, I've got a great list of places to donate the unsaleable items. I'm sure this will go smoothly.

I hope you find a good company. In Maryland, auctioneers seem to get better results that the estate sale people that have tag sales. Your client might want to consider a local auction firm that has an excellent reputation.

Thanks, Barb - I think he's probably too high end for this transaction - the house is going to be listed at $89,900. But, I'll certainly keep him in mind for anything higher end.

Juli, If there is an attorney involved in the estate (Probate) I suggest you ask the attorney. They typically have great connections for those folks. Otherwise, if there is not a lot of value ... hate to say it ... garage sale!

Nick, thanks to many ActiveRain members, I actually got quite a few referrals - I LOVE ActiveRain!!!!

No, Kathleen, the estate doesn't have enough assets to qualify and only one heir - no siblings. The mother signed over the house to her son right before she died with the actual recording date on the day she died - I found that a little eerie - but she was looking out for her only son. And, I agree with the garage sale thing, but there are supposedly some "collectibles" - I hope they're not Beanie Babies, LOL.
