Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday Shopping
Is it worth it? Do you go out and brave the crowds, madness, and chaos to get the good deals?
Tonight for the first time I decided to give it a try. I braved the local Walmart in Covington and was amazed at what I found. People were crazy. I personally was ran into twice by a man with his cart. He kept slamming it into my side because he was trying to go by me and couldn't figure out how to get his cart moving. He was totally clueless that he was hitting me although I was less than four feet from him. And when I pointed out to him that he was slamming his cart into me he didn't even say sorry. Just adjusted his cart walked right on by.
And to make matters worse, there was a poor couple that was hit by a 71 year old man in the parking lot. King5 news reports that he was under the influence of alcohol. The wife, who was trapped under the vehicle is in serious condition. The husband is in good condition. Are low prices on a few items really worth this? Worth the lines, the craziness, the chaos for a few dollars in savings? Two families lives were changed forever.
Seems to me that if the stores would offer great prices on several things all day long, they would get more business in the end.
For me, it was not worth it. I'd rather have peace and quiet and spend time with my family than to spend a few hours with crazy strangers.
Is it worth it to risk so much for Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday Shopping?
