 Holiday Celebrations In Arizona

Take a walk on the wild side through the Phoenix Zoo that has been transformed into Wildlife In Wild Lights.

This magical event features 3.5 million twinkling, dancing lights making it one of the largest holiday lights shows in the country.  You can enjoy this unique holiday celebration nightly from 6 p.m.-10 p.m until January 6, 2013.

ZooLights has are more than 600 glimmering light sculptures.  Although animal viewing is limited as most of the animals are sleeping, you will see zebra, otter, flamingos, watusi cattle and others in the animal kingdom that have more nocturnal habits.   As for the rest, you'll definitely see many of their likenesses lit up for your viewing enjoyment.

Don't miss the new MUSIC IN MOTION show in and around the lake - a dazzling light show like no other in the Valley! Music in Motion features "Wizards in Winter" by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, synchronized to 15, 000 lights including:

  • A dozen 12 foot tall floating light tubes
  • 26 dancing trees surrounding the lake
  • A 24 foot in diameter shimmering sphere
  • Six 3D giant butterflies that take flight around the lake
  • New full range sound system. Music in Motion can be viewed from several locations around the lake.

    More New Magical Moments:
  • Experience two 10 foot tall wizards creating an electric "snow" with a wave of their wands.
  • Follow the overhead threads of lights from a giant spider web that leads you to the hungry insect.
  • Take your picture in front of the 3D oryx, lion, or the new tiger.

ZooLights has gone green using LED (light-emitting diode) lights that consume far less energy than standard light bulbs.  They also require less energy to manufacture, thereby reducing their environmental impact even further.  The millions of lights are powered by SRP EarthWise Energy, a more environmentally friendly way to produce electricity. EarthWise Energy helps keep our Valley clean by producing energy from sun, wind, the earth’s heat and flowing water in our canals.

Jengo the giraffe is one of the animals that likes staying up late and can't wait to see his many friends enjoying Wildlife in Wild Lights.  Each ticket purchase for ZooLights helps the Phoenix Zoo fund their educational programs, conservation projects and feed the animals.

Let it Rain!

So cool!  The zoo out here in Seattle is doing zoolights for the first time ever this year.  I'm definitely going to bring my nephews.

Dedicated. Qualified. Local.

We have a zoolights and a botanical garden light event in my town.  Both are very festive ways to spend the holidays.
