This is a good thing. Can you imagine... you can't afford to pay your mortgage or you have to sell short for some other reason and you get a 1099 from the government saying you owe taxes on money you never had in yor pocket? Gives me the shakes

Jen, this is good news for homeowners and probably saved the court system from being flooded with bankruptcy filings to avoid the 1099C had the act not been extended for another year!
