Stolen Sign Saga Continues--It's Back

Norma's Sign back in Hermosa Beach

Last Monday I posted an article announcing the theft of the real estate sign from my luxury listing in Hermosa Beach. We replaced it the same day with a temporary sign.

Friday we were showing property in Hermosa Beach one block from our luxury listing. We took a short detour by the property to see if the temporary sign had vanished too. Imagine our surprise when we saw the original luxury sign and the temporary sign sharing the same small plot of high-end real estate soil!

I won’t reveal the details, but second thoughts can be a very smart thing to have when there are security cameras rolling. Smile, you may very well be on concealed cameras!

Smile. You might be on candid camera. Glad the missing sign is back.

You're no fun Norma, spill the beans, who was it? Did they read your blog and figure that the jig was up?

Mike - Yes, being caught on camera can cause a change of heart for sure.  How humiliating--not to mention being caught committing a crime.

Joel - Maybe cameras would be a great listing tool.  Providing a nanny cam in each room would certainly cut down on open house theft--that's a growing problem.  Not to mention stealing agents' signs.

Malcolm - You have to ask yourself what person in their right mind would think a $5,500,000 property would not have security cameras rolling?    Oh yes, the power of the almight pen or post!

Well, do you know who took it.  The next sign story should have a picture of the person who "borrowed" it :)

Norma -- I  think Jane Peters has the right idea --- especially if it  was a competitor(agent or  another homeseller)who "temporarily borrowed" your sign.

Not so funny FOR SALE sign story is it...we have seen neighbors using real estate signs to advertise their weekend garage sales. That's bad!

Take care Norma.
