What better way to start my March 31 Day Challenge on ActiveRain than to let people know that our own beloved Dr. Seuss will celebrate his birthday tomorrow on March 2.
Dr. Seuss was a very important member of my family. When my daughter left for college, she didn't know I wrapped up the book, Oh, THE PLACES YOU WILL GO in her suitcase. It was an emotional experience for both of us and I still remember how excited she was to find it when she unpacked her clothes. She called me immediately and we cried and talked for hours. Today she's a world traveler - who would guess? Dr. Seuss is a great way to celebrate any occasion or to remember that READING is essential to growth and opportunity.
