If you are looking for an affordable condo complex in Branford you have just found it. Conveniently located just off of Route 1 in Branford. Jefferson Woods is one of the larger condominum complexes with approximately 285 units. 

Originally built in the early 1970's additional buildings were added during the 1980's with the completion of the last building in 1992.  With its close proximity to Interstate 95, Route 1, it's a short commute to Downtown New Haven, shopping and restaurants. If you have a longer commute a great resource is the Shore Line East commuter rail service.

Jefferson Woods Condos

There are a variety of units in the Jefferson Woods Condos.  1 bedroom, 2 bedroom and 3 bedroom floor plans are all available. You can expect to see a mix of layouts with either carpeting or hardwood floors in the living room, dining room and bedrooms. Many but not all units have 1 1/2-2 bathrooms.  A number of the current owners have done some updating and improvements that may include granite countertops and stainless steel appliances in the kitchen and ceramic tile in the bathrooms.

1 bedroom units run about 920 square feet while the 2 and 3 bedroom units can get up to around 1200 square feet. Prices range from approximately 120,000 up to $160,000.  You'll also find that many units may also have additional square footage in a finished lower level basement.  Units are heated by gas and have central air conditioning.  Jefferson Woods is also one of the few condo complexes in Branford that is FHA approved.

Jefferson Woods Grounds and Amenities

The complex has been undergoing renovations with vinyl siding being installed on the buildings. Each unit has at the miniumum one reserved parking space.  Additionally there is visitor parking available and attached garages included in a number of the townhouse units.  Included in the HOA monthly fees is grounds maintenance, garbage, water and snow removal.  The fees do vary based on the size of the unit and on average is around $300-$350/month.

The ground surounding the complex are nicely landscaped and maintained.  Amenities you'll find at Jefferson Woods are a swimming pool, clubhouse, playround area and tennis court.

Living in Branford

The Town of Branford combines natural beauty with convenience with its 20 miles of coastline and close proximity to New Haven and Tweed New Haven Airport.  Its quaint New England green and revitalized Branford Town Center area features the Branford Town Hall, historic churches, lots of delicious restaurants and places to shop.

Branford has a very active parks & recreation department, two libraries, a senior center, tennis courts, hiking trails, public and private beaches, two yacht clubs and numerous marinas. The Green is one of the central points of activities featuring summer concerts and the Christmas Tree lighting.  It is also the site where the annual Branford Festiveal is held.
