Have you eaten at the Springs Orleans yet? The Springs Orleans , which opened in 2011, is an award winning restaurant in the historic downtown Colorado Springs. It serves both local favorites and Cajun cuisine.

The atmosphere has a very classy New Orlean's feel. It is relaxing. The food is great and the service is very good. The Springs Orleans is a great place to meet friends, to have a nice evening with your spouse or to entertain business clients.

The Cajun food at Springs Orleans is great.  They have all of the favorites that you would expect.

However, they serve the best mashed potatoes in Colorado. Their deserts are extremely good also.

Some people I know go just for the deserts. My favorite....the southern style banana pudding.

I never really thought about trying to take pictures of food until I had dinner at the Springs Orleans.   Food is harder to photograph than I would have thought.

Sondra, the way you framed these photos is like going on vacation to Europe and letting us thoroughly enjoy your trip! I loved the style, the foodie STUFF about all of it...

Sondra, I like in these various locales where you can sample cuisines with a theme like Cajun from another area of the country for variety in life. Obviously the Springs Orleans is doing things right winning the awards. Beyond enjoying the food, your photos and words show the inviting ambience with much friendliness. A place everyone should add to their dining experiences. A great local post!

Morning Sondra-This is a wonderful local post. A great review for the restaurant. I too like the way you did your pictures. I have never had banana pudding but I am sure it is delicious. I love my desserts. I am not a fan of Cajun as it is too hot and spicy. The place looks very nice. Wanted to say a special thank you for your comment on my first post. That was such a wonderful surprise. I appreciate it and look forward to getting to know you better as well.

I love cajun...for what that's worth.

But the reason I chime in is because I love your pictures and how they are presented.  I think I saw that you post (or were planning on doing so) about editing pictures for blogging, or something along those lines.  Will have to keep my eyes peeled for that.

Sondra, my girlfriends wanted to take me there for my birthday, but we didn't make a reservation. Shame on us. Thought we could wing it. Well, my friend let me tell you this place is hopping and no reservation, no table. We walked on down the street to Nosh. You and I need to get together there for dinner! I'm craving banana pudding. :)

Sondra, It does sound like a great place to eat.  I haven't been in Colorado Springs for quite a while, we may have to get over that way!

Sondra, One of my cameras has a food setting on it. I haven't tried it yet to see what the difference would be but will check it out and let you know.

Thank you all for the comments.  Roy...that dandelion was magical.  Thank you for sharing it here.  Love it.  It is almost midnight and I have to get some sleep if I want to have any chance of functioning tomorrow.

I'll be by your post in the morning.
