Why should I move to Daytona Beach?

As a native of the Greater Daytona Beach Area, my opinions towards our commnity may be somewhat biased. However, I could always move to another area if I did not enjoy living here as much as I do. So why should one consider living in The Greater Halifax area.

Here are a few reasons to consider: Friendly people who care about their community and the citizens who live here. Realitively low traffic for its area and size which makes for easy commuting to and from work in less time. Fresh air to breathe with frequent ocean breezes. Great weather most of the year around. Lot's of outdoor activities to enjoy including golfing (many nice courses to choose from) fishing (salt and fresh water), surfing, boating, sailing, kayaking, camping (state parks). There are atleast four museums in our area and four large venues for live entertainment of all kinds, Art shows in the Park and downtown in Daytona Beach. Volusia County Schools are doing well with their commitment to educating our children and we have no less than eight colleges in our local community including UCF, BCU, Stetson, Palmer Chiropractic, Embry Riddle, Keiser, Phoenix, Volusia Technology Center and Daytona Beach College. We also have a Medical School as part of FSU that will be opening soon. That makes for plenty of educational opportunities for those who are looking to enhance their current employment position or transition to another one. A brand new, state of the art, hospital due to open in the next year and our original Halifax Hospital currenty under a major expansion and renovation now called Halifax Health. Low crime, and twenty miles of some of the nices beaches that can be found anywhere in the world. The employment opportunities continue to improve with new industry moving to our area on a regular basis. Education, nursing, and hospitality continue to be strong areas for employment. Our local International Speedway Corp. has just broken ground for Daytona Live a huge new facility directly across the street from the Daytona International Speedway. The facility will boast several different entertainment venues, shopping and various types of condos and hotel opportunites. Where else can you go to the beach and then go to the racetrack and see some of the best Sportscar and Nascar drivers in the world?

These are just a few reasons, right off of the top of my head, to at least visit if not make this a permanent place to reside and raise a family. I welcome your comments, questions, and feedback...
