Wells Group Real Estate Forecast-2013
The Wells Group Real Estate Brokerage recently held its 13th Durango real estate forecast. The one-hour 20 minute presentation was held at the Fort Lewis College Community Concert Hall and was attended by more than 300 invitees. In addition to video contributions from various Wells Group brokers, Bob Allen, local real estate appraiser and consultant gave his 100+ slide show covering everything from population growth, employment, the effect of natural gas prices on our local economy, low housing inventory, a complete analysis of sales for the last several years, the large increase in traffic at our airport, and so much more than that even. This event is called a “Forecast” so we do indeed try to predict the future and where we feel the market is going. To be fair, we always discuss last year’s “predictions” so you have a good idea on our track record. (It actually is quite good!)
Whether you are a person wanting to buy your primary residence, a vacation home, a rental property or if you are a builder considering the Durango/Bayfield area for your next project, the slideshow and video will be right up your alley. This year we videotaped the entire presentation and it is also available for viewing. What I would suggest is the following: if you have a screen big enough to do a split screen, then I would put the PowerPoint presentation on the left side and the videotape on the right side of the screen and watch the entire show simultaneously. If you working on a tablet or some smaller screen, then I would print the PowerPoint presentation and then watch the video.

This extremely educational event, as you will see, is quite a production and takes a committee of 6 Wells Group brokers along with the sales manager, a number of meetings to organize and coordinate. Each year we try to improve over the previous years and try to add new areas of discussion/emphasis to help our clients. I’ve been privileged to be on this committee for a number of years.
