Early Warning App for Your Smartphone- Let's Hope You Never Have to Use It.
Attention all Smartphone Owners!
Being from the Midwest ... the Red Cross Tornado APP download available within Kathy Streib's post could come in handy.
But tornadoes can occur almost anywhere, not just the Midwest region of the U.S., if the conditions are right. So I'm passing this handy, timely, and important APP on to as many as possible, so they have access to it, its information, and its services. Especially heading into another Tornado Season.
Thank you, Kathy Streib, AR Member, "Room Service Home Staging" located in Palm Beach County, South Florida ... for passing this important Smartphone APP on to all. Hopefully no one ever needs to use it!

Early Warning App for Your Smartphone-Let’s Hope You Never Have to Use It.
I am an “app junkie”....I love trying apps on my iPhone to see what works, what’s fun, and what just needs to be deleted. Admittedly, not every app no matter how useful is for every user.
Yesterday when we were in Naples, FL for a day trip I “heard” from the Red Cross App that I’d just downloaded about a month ago. The sky was overcast and it looked as if we would get rain or even some thunderstorms very soon. However, as I was standing in one of the boutiques on 3rd Street...my new little app sent me an alert. We were under a Tornado Watch. By the time we’d walked to our car to head back home across Alligator Alley, there were tornado watches and thunderstorm warnings all along South Florida.
The American Red Cross Tornado App is available for your iPhone or Android Smartphone. You can download it and then forget about it, which is what I did. It will :
*Tell you what you need to do in case of a Tornado.
*Emit an audible sound even if the app is closed in the event of a Tornado Warning.
*Provide locations of shelters
*Provide a tool kit within the app that provides a flashlight, audible sound and strobe light.
*Provide a customizable “I’m safe” message to family and friends via email, text or social media.
But... that’s not all. You can download Wildfire, Hurricane, Earthquake and other warning apps.
